Description:

Awarded the 2007 Governor's Environment Stewardship Award in the category of Parks and Recreation. Renaissance Park was a brown field site transformed into a park for our citizens and visitors to learn about the process of nature. The 24 acre park enhances the Tennessee River eco-systems, promotes the return of native plants and animals and highlights the North Shore areas historical significance. This park displays the much needed balance between urban renewal and the conservation of natural resources.
